The key to the popularity and success of the Trutones is the calibre of the group members, their professional approach, high skill levels and quality equipment.

The driving force behind the Trutones is the percussionist and leader Len Mc Gill. In the early years of the Trutones Len’s efforts quickly established a residency at the Palais at St Kilda, then Melbourne’s premier venue for corporate events.

The keyboardist is Noel Tresider who has toured with many internationally acclaimed artists , including the Beatles. Noel, one of Australia's premier keyboardists, is also a very skilled musical arranger and director.

Bringing more than forty years professional experience is Graham Broomfield, who plays tenor and baritone saxophones as well as flute. Graham has also toured with many international artists including Tom Jones and Del Shannon.

On guitar is Mick Hamilton who commenced his career in Adelaide with the Vibrants. Mick has toured as a musical director, performed as a resident musician on television, made extensive
recordings and produced many albums for a wide variety of artists. Mick is one of Australia’s most respected guitarists.

The bassist is Ian B Allen who has a pedigree dating back to the late fifties. Ian has shared the stage with many artists including Rick Nelson, Chubby Checker, Buddy Holly’s Crickets and Gene Pitney to mention a few. As an event producer he has toured celebrities such as Burt Bacharach, Tony Curtis, Paul Anka and Muhammad Ali.
